Victor Lamar Evans II dies in wrong way crash.
Austin Police report fatal crash on September 18, 2025.
Victor Lamar Evans II was identified as the fatality in a multivehicle crash near I-35 and Parmer Lane in Austin. The crash was reported at 2:16 a.m. which is a time that arouses suspicion of whether a driver was over-served alcohol at a bar. Texas law allows a customer who was over-served alcohol to bring suit against the bar if the service of alcohol was the cause of legal damages. Smith v. Sewell, 858 S.W.2d 350 (Tex.1993). When the injured party is the actual bar patron, these cases are called "first party" cases. High levels of intoxication are suspected in wrong-way collisions which occur shortly after the bars close. It is illegal in Texas for bars to serve alcohol to an obviously intoxicated customer.
